Thanks for coming to the Job Shop website

The Job Shop was a unique 10-week return to work program operating in Vancouver BC for more than 11 years. As of March 30, 2012, the Job Shop is closed. Those looking for assistance on their job search should now go to the WorkBC Employment Service Centre located at 112 West Hastings Street, Vancouver.

The staff here at the Job Shop (and Tradeworks) have enjoyed working with the many people who have come our way over the past decade. It has been our pleasure to assist and our pleasure to contribute to their personal progress in small ways.

The approach we have taken enabled us to work with people one-on-one and facilitate step-by-step momentum. Those steps may have been related to health and housing, or family links and clothing, or simply addressing depression and the consequences of rejection. Indeed, being unemployed is no fun and being short of money can make one's life stressful. Through empathy, compassion and respect we have tried to step in and assist. We hope now that others will do the same within the new 'Service Delivery Model'.
